Hi - 1 month of riding and 1 month of pain

This is my first post here
Now i know how the title sounds, like the 1 month of riding was the 1 month of pain, but its far from it.
I have a nice story to tell.
I just got my L's and bought a new 2008 Suzuki GS500F a month ago, and have been loving every bit of it (Dont worry, ive been riding bikes at camping for many years, so im not a complete newbie). Infact i cant get enough of it, I would just ride around all the suburbs and shops, just because i wanted to ride

Just over a week ago I was riding back from work, it was wet so i was only going 50Km/h. I had a truck come down a side street (I was on the main road) and slow right down, to give way to the car infront of me and myself.
He was turning right, so he had to go across our road to get to the little island area where he can go onto the other side of the road. I did the whole buffer to the right side of the lane, as you do. But all of a sudden, this truck pulled out right infront of me, about 5 metres. I progressively squeezed on my brakes, so it does not lock-on or slide on the wet, but my tires were just sliding on the wet roads anyway But even if it were dry conditions, theres no way I wouldve stopped with 5 metres for reaction and braking distance.
I bounced off the side of the truck, after the initial impact, my bike then went under the truck and got hooked under the back wheels and got dragged about 10 metres.

Somehow, amazingly and thankfully, the only injury I have is a good sized gap between my left A-C joint (main shoulder joint) which will need some physio started in a week (the 1 month of pain coming up how fun). Im glad I did not go under with the bike, seeing as my beautiful new sexy bike is completely written off
The truck drivers insurance will cover everything, seeing as he was completely in the wrong. (well they better, id like to see them try to make and excuse why they shouldnt)

But none the less, Im havent been scared off riding. Never will be.
Just waiting until my shoulder is better so i can jump back on a bike!

Anyway, hi to you all, and hope to be posting a bit more on here
ps. all typed with one hand

Welcome Wazza

Aussie 1, truck 0, glad to see it hasn't put you off.

Theres a chance I might be in Brisbane in November helping a friend who has just got her residency visa find a place to live etc, lots of buzzing about looking around the suberbs so I plan to hire a bike for a few days if I make it over.

any goods coast roads that way you can recommend?
