Hi everyone from Ben McConnachie

Hi everyone,

This is Ben McConnachie. Iv'e looked at all the posts and still can't believe the extent of the support all you guys are giving! The fundraising ideas are all fantastic and will help boost my career in a massive way. You would probably all like to know a little about me, my racing career so far and my life in general so you know exactly who your supporting ..

My name is Ben ( obviously ) and I am 16 years old. This means that I have just finished my exams and currently seeking a part time job in the holidays to earn some money for racing before I study for another two years at sixth form. I don't mind school , but when you do a sport with the adrenalin rush of motorcycle racing, nothing really compares ! Nonetheless, at school I do enjoy Spanish. So much so I took extra lessons and can now speak the language fairly well ! The aim of this was to be able to use this skill when racing in Spain which is where I would like to race a.s.a.p and then move on to the Grand Prix's like my Dad. Away from racing, I also enjoy playing guitar beause it lets me relax and take my mind of the hectic scheduel of the exams, etc...

Down to the serious stuff ! Now i'm back with a competetive race team - Replicast Racing - and with the huge confidence boost of both the team itself including Gary and Benji Dawson and Dave Cherry, not to mention all the support from you guys, I take part in physical activities to keep fit for racing . This involves cycling, gym work, running and some swimming and squash !

Iv'e only been racing for one full year as my first year ( 2006 ) was brought to a hault after an injury therefore 2007 was my first full year racing a 125. Since then I have managed to win races, score points in the British Championship, race at the Grand Prix's in the Red Bull Rookie Cup at Mugello, Le Mans and Donnington and also race in the Spanish Championship ! My first experience with motorcycles was with Trials riding from the age of 10. After competing on the trials scene for three years I again worked my way through the ranks to become 5th in Britain at a young age of 12 ! Despite this, after a ride on the Ron Haslam Race School and two years of persistant nagging at my Dad, I eventually started racing and from then on my love has been for the race track !

That's pretty much me ! As you can see, I love racing more than anything and with support from forums such as these, it makes the riding all the more enjoyable ! It gives me belief that I can make it ! The feeling of racing a bike right on the edge, with 5 other bikes alongside you all going into one corner and wanting the same goal , fairings touching, head down .. flat out ! < That's racing for me and It's thanks to people like you and Replicast that give me the opportunity to do that very thing . Therefore, a massive thanks to everyone in advance for your much appreciated support !

I'll keep logging on to post my results, news, etc..

Thanks again ,

Ben McConnachie #49

Re: Hi everyone from Ben McConnachie

Thanks Ben. It means a lot to us that you have taken the time to chat to us.
Something else you're doing mate is publicising your sport, I've never had an interest in fast bikes let alone racing (look at my bike for proof ).

I hope we can all help in different ways enough to make a positive difference to your season.

Good luck mate.

Todd
