| Aprillia 1000 RS Mille .2001 Hi. I am a new member .Just joined. Will introduce my self later when I have more time. 2 immediate problems.2001 Aprillia 1000 RS Mille 1/ Front pads just been replaced. Front Brake seems to work ok but the lever, on the highest setting comes nearly right back to the bar & feels very spongy No apparent drop in fluid level to indicate bedding in of pads to disc. What do we try. ??? 2/ Speedo stopped working ages ago. Asked dealer who did MOT & fitted pads to attend to the speedo. When it came back, the speedo worked, but in KMPH. So, we did the reset to make it read in MPH & it hasnt worked since. Does the speedo drive from the rear wheel as I suspect.? What can we try with these problems ? Help appreciated. Regards Chris. | Re: Aprillia 1000 RS Mille .2001 hello SprintBRG welcome to the forum,i cant say for sure about the aprilla ,but most speedo's work from the front wheel, maybe tyhe shop put it on km's because they couldnt get it to work in mph,if the brake thing has just happened since the new pads were fitted i would give them proper time to bed in (usually a couple of hundred miles) failing that try tying the brake lever back overnight to allow any air bubbles to escape from the system, someone with more knowledge than me should be along soon to point out whre i have gone wrong ![]() ........................Sam |

| Re: Aprillia 1000 RS Mille .2001 Hi There Sprint... welcome to the forum.. Brakes sound like they have air in them.. As Sam suggested the old "tying the lever back to the bar overnight" trick may be just the ticket, but if not Take it back to the shop and ask them to bleed them up again.. Sorry can't really help with the speedo... I assume it is the digital type yes? |

| Re: Aprillia 1000 RS Mille .2001 Brake issue was air in the master cyl line. Speedo not so easy. Checked all wires & junctions from the rear wheel sensor. New one £100 over here unless someone knows a cheaper supplier in USA who will ship to UK ? I will update my profile in a minuite so you can see who I am & my ride & interests. Thanks for your greetings & welcomes. Chris 2001 Sprint ST. British Racing Green |
