A hello and a question

Hi there
Just passed CBT and now doing DA.
I havn't been on a bike for a few years so need to get all new kit.
I just wondered if anyone had the same problem as me with glasses- I
can't get them on very easily with the helmet on. Any one out there with any suggestions for helmets to look at- I was wondering if one of the flip front
ones might be a bit easier.
Cheers

Re: A hello and a question

hiya digger welcome to the forum. i wear glasses and always have trouble with them, sometimes the legs slide in no problem but most of the time they miss my left ear for some weird reason. the best thing i have found is daily disposable contact lenses,if i only use them on the bike a months supply can last a while and doesnt cost a fortune

Thanks Sam
I'm a bit squemish about contact lenses - so have never tried them.
But it's got to be better than not being able to see properly!!
Will try it out

Howdy Digger and welcome
I also wear glasses (varifocals, so I have them on all of the time), but I have found that, with a flip front helmet (I have a Caberg S2), if you lift up the chin bar and then spread the sides as you put it on, you can, if you do it right, get the helmet on without dislodging the glasses. It takes practice though!

Re: A hello and a question

helloo and welcome. I'm a speccy four eyes too and would normally wear my old battered specs with an open-faced lid and a bandana tied over my gob. Works a treat except for when you have to ride through hail and rain, when your face gets stung and you can't see through the specs

My cheapo Airoh full-face (which I'm now reluctantly wearing) works fine with specs. As other esteemed and knowledgeable members have advised, go and try on a variety of helmets and see which works best for you.
