Quite interested to know what you thought of the Fazer as I'm thinking of getting one when I pass my test? The reviews I've read so far say the model you had is better than the one that came afterwards (2003 on) because of the thundercat engines better mid-range power. The later model has a detuned R6 engine.

Hello there ,
The fazer was and still is a brilliant bike , especially for a first big bike .
The earlier models pre 2003 are definately better , much more usable
power right across the rev range . Economical too , i was regularly
getting near 60 mpg and not exactly riding slowly either . Brakes are a
main point on the bike as they're the blue four pot taken from the R1 ,
excellent brakes , comfortable ride , great bike , highly recommended .
Fitted a scottoiler and rear hugger , heated grips and a slightly higher
screen for more comfortable blasts . Just need to look out for the downpipes
as they're prone to corrosion but easy enough to replace
Great bike and i still miss mine but just fancied a change
Hope the info helps
