| Re: Bad CBT experience. - help? Hello BenBojangles, Sorry to edit your post but it's a little unfair to post all this persons details on a public forum, I do sympathise with your problem and hope it is resolved without any more hassle for you. |

| Re: Bad CBT experience. - help? I would err on the side of caution. Their website says Quote:
So at the end of the day, it's your word against theirs and if the instructor say's you needed more training, he's got the proof of 'extra' training being given with the date of your CBT cert, so I think your right to wait for a response from them before doing anything else. | |

| Re: Bad CBT experience. - help? How did you get on with this Ben? I'm no legal eagle but i would say they failed to fulfill their obligation to you. The facts are that you handed money over for a full CBT tuition training, whether you failed or not, you were to be given adequate tuition in all the aspects required for a CBT. You have a contract with them for you to provide them with a fee and in return recieve the full training course. They failed to fulfill their obligation to you as they did not provide to you the service they advertised. You are blameless in all this and i do sympathise with you. Like people say, the letter to them and the offer to settle the altercation amicabley, stating your case would be a good move. A good thing is that you signed the DSA's CBT Certificate, so its logged and if they say it isnt and mysteriously lost maybe you could offer them to discuss the matter with the DSA so that they may investigate why they have lost a legal document (IIRC these are triplicated so there will be logs of the Cert. number somewhere) As people say though its a lot of messing but then sometimes principle is more important than money and its your decision. Did you ever get a reciept for your Initial CBT? Hope you come back and tell us how it all went? |

| Re: Bad CBT experience. - help? Just a note on this type of post. Naming and shaming companies or individuals can not happen on here. This forum is privately owned funded and run by myself, naming names would be leaving me personally open to legal action and I don't want or, for that matter, can afford this to happen. When doing this, anyone reading the post could take a one sided view because unless the accused party signs up and posts a response then they are open to accusations without realising it and this is one of the best optimised biker forums in the UK. Although I can sympathise with any member that feels they have been mistreated in some way, this forum isn't the place to voice your anger and concerns. If anyone feels they need opinions on how to resolve a problem then by all means post your story on here but please leave names or company details out. I hope you will understand my point of view and act accordingly otherwise in extreme circumstances it could mean the end of the forum ![]() |

| Re: Bad CBT experience. - help? Alllreeet. Personally, I don't feel that I am at all acting maliciously with this matter. I'm a good citizen. One of the good guys. I am just a dissatisfied customer who went through a calamitous & unsatisfactory first experience. It's not about litigation, it's about objective point of view. Update: Today, I parted with the extra cash. It churned inside me to hand over the money, but I smiled. I smiled at their new office/shed too, which they have clearly been striving to acquire ...And, I wished them good day.I really needed my certificate as I have arranged lessons with another training school, and I really want to get out on my bike. *No, I won't mention their name......atm. lol* All in all I copped-out in a direct 'go-through-the-system' sense. But I did fully weigh-up how I, can help myself to maximise the feeling that I haven't been too hard done by. There's nothing worse in my opinion, than being sold s*1t by a snake oil salesman. I figured waiting a couple of weeks, making other arrangements, and pinning their photograph to my bike club's dartboard has made me feel a little satisfied. Put it this way, 30+ bike club members and word of mouth, travels very fast. I'm lucky to have these people as drinking friends, and I am very certain that the training centre will & already has paid for how it has chosen to operate. By posting on this forum, I just wanted to see what the impartial perspective on this issue would be, away from my kind & biased buddies. And, I am very very grateful to all of you for your valued help and advice. In the Great grand scheme of things, It's interesting to see who is for complaining about poor service, and those who say "Accept it". This place, without a doubt, is a very good forum. I hope that in future, on a general level, all first time CBT riders in the UK will receive a satisfactory service, and I hope they take action if they haven't. In fact, I think in all aspects of life, fairness & customer satisfaction is an imperative. Let's face it, in the UK, we are for years & years battered into submission & acceptance of crap things at inflated cost. God *Or whoever...Mooby the bloomin' Golden Cow* bless the Internet for allowing us a more level playing field. I wish you all happiness. Cheers. ![]() |
