| Yo Hey everyone, my names Tom, I'm 18, from hertfordshire. Just done my second CBT today on a Honda CG125, much like the bike I bought on Friday. Before Getting the 125 I had been riding a little Vespa around for 2 years. Really enjoyed my first experience on a 125 today, picked everything up really quickly, much faster than I expected. Don't know if was just the bike or what, but mastered the clutch control, etc pretty much instantly. I guess just starting driving lessons helped a bit with finding the biting point and smooth action from clutch to accelerator. Absolutely soaking wet after the CBT, pissing down with rain all day! Really enjoyed it though, can't wait to get onto the open road by myself just for the fun of it. I broke my wrist last year when I came off the vespa on a roundabout. Wasn't being silly or going too fast, back end just slipped in the heavy rain and I landed in an extremely awkward place. Luckily police were a few cars behind to pick up the bike for me and walk into town with me, had no idea I'd broken my wrist until my mum forced me to go the hospital a few hours later after she saw the swelling. I don't really enjoy enjoy driving cars, certainly not as much as I do a bike, but I'm not paying for it yet so may as well get it done while it's free. Picking up the new bike from my dads tomorrow evening, he's had to do a bit of work on it to get it to a safe standard. It's an 07 Chituma CTM125, it's one of those Chinese imports. It's in great condition, no rust at all on any of the chrome, done 1.5k miles, bargain for 300 quid taxed and mot'd, as a first bike that I'm no doubt going to drop numerous times. Getting a decent exhaust fitted, brakes adjusted and new pads. Brakes didn't work at all before. Both brakes on full, bike would still roll freely. So getting them sorted tomorrow too, got some other little general maintenance bits to do, gonna check out the electrics on it, Chinese imports are known for having extremely bad wiring and connections. Oh, hopefully getting a crash bar soon too, heard the bikes are practically replicas of the old Honda CG125's, so hopefully wont be too hard to find one.Anyway, sorry for the wall of text and rambling on, just really pleased and excited to be riding something that doesn't sound like a lawnmower in a lot of pain and something that can get me past the Sunday drivers doing 30 on a clear, dry, national speed limit. I'll be a regular here from now on, from what I've seen already seems like a great community. Last edited by Haylo : 11-16-2008 at 04:22 PM. |

| Serenity I was depressed last night so I called Lifeline. Got through to a call center in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal, and they got all excited and asked: 'Can you drive a truck?' | |

| Re: Yo Thanks for the welcome guys. Another thing I forgot to mention. Insurance, third party fire and theft, 2 years no claims, bikes worth 400-450, insurance is almost 2 grand! Third party on the other hand, £270. Do they really expect my bike to get stolen 4 times a year? 'Course, I opted for the third party, if it gets nicked 3-4 times a year, I'd still be saving money anyway.Last edited by Haylo : 11-16-2008 at 05:00 PM. |

Happy Biking ![]() |
