You can indeed just plug in anywhere. How fast you manage to charge up depends on the capacity of the circuit you plug into and the size (and cost) of the charger you have selected. The cell technology we use in the KillaCycle can be recharged in 10 minutes, if your charger is large enough and the capacity of the circuit is large enough. The battery is not what limits the charge time with A123Systems cells. It is the circuit rating and how much you are willing to pay for the charger that sets the limit.

Typical outlets in Europe are 16 or 20 amps @ 220 volts, so you could fill the 9.6 kW-hr battery pack in the KillaCycle from completely dead in about two and a half hours. If you find a big plug like they have in a campground for caravans, or for an electric stove, you can charge in much less time (if you have a large enough charger.)

By the way, we travel to the UK quite regularly. Last weekend, Eva and I were in Thame, Oxfordshire visiting fellow EV racing enthusiasts. We really enjoyed staying in the Swan Hotel and visiting the truly spectacular National Motorcycle Museum in Bikenhill, Solihull during this latest visit.

Welcome Bill !

Superb piece of kit, i guess you are looking to commercialise this bike? 150 miles is pretty good. In real terms how soon do you think we'd see these on our roads?
