Slow speed control is key to a good 'U' turn. You will need to keep the engine pulling throughout the turn and control the speed using the back brake. It's amazing how slow you can go and keep you're balance. Here are the basic steps.

* Positioning - You need to make as much...

That's what I do, I have a tendency to over rev, then instinctively drop it right down to lose speed, ending in either a foot down or stall. When I control the speed with the brake I'm able to concentrate more on bringing the revs down without dropping the throttle completely.

ok I have been out practicing my U-turns....and now instead of going to slow, I think am to fast, but I am doing them...without putting my foot down. Does it matter how fast you do it (the u-turn)

Re: Performing a 'U' Turn on a motorcycle

as long as your deemed to be completely in control of the bike at all times , but then again i guess its down to your perception of how fast you are doing them i believe slow control will come with practice its strange how we ride slowly in a straight line in traffic jams , approaching light, junctions etc but as soon as we're as to turn in a limited space evryone gets all ragged , i found the bext piece of advice was not to look where your goin (ie at handlebars or road directly in front of you) but look right over your shoulder at where you intend to go.NOT WHERE YOUR GOIN - WHERE YOU WANNA GO
