The site you linked to is out of date, and has not been updated since 20 of march..

Firefox 3 was launched on 17 June and 3.0.1 was officially released on 16th July.

Firefox 2 will not upgrade automatically to firefox 3, you have to download it and install in separately.

Security updates for firefox 2 are due to cease in december 08, so all users should update by then..

Hope that clears things up for you

Re: Help.

that's cool mate..

the new gecko rendering engine is sweet.. you must of noticed how much faster the pages render

Glad you extensions work.. I have been using firefox 3 since the late alpha builds (nightlys), but it is only recently that the extensions have caught up, tho I still have to use the development version of tab mix plus

Re: Help.

The up-date was for version 2 but I downloaded version 3 this afternoon but it's still not letting me have my pussies even though it supposed to be compatable, but I'm not fussed as I seem to have a bigger viewing area somhow.

Tonight I was notified of 2 firefox updates, 1 was for IE and the other for the google toolbar

Could be a borked profile which is causing your issues...(firefox3 will still try to use your firefox 2 profile. Once your set up on 3 it's better to remove 2 so do this first)

To fix your profile, 1)Visit HERE and print off the instructions for managing profiles.

2) export your bookmarks to a html file. (you might want to export your passwords too)

3) clear your cache.. go to tools>>options>>privacy>> then click the clear private data settings button.. set it to clear cache, cookies, and pretty much everything else. Hit the clear private data button and close firefox.

4) Follow the instruction you printed off earlier delete all existing profile and create a new profile.

5) Import your bookmarks etc...

HTH

Jonny

would love one,

but between biking, building and fixing computers, keeping tropical fish, hill walking, rock climbing, messing about with me kids, walking me puppies, gaming, playing guitar, posting on forums and working 50 hour weeks, I can't seem to find the time
