Mozilla firefox

The other day I got the update message from firefox to the latest version, so I happily clicked the button and off it went to do it's thing.
Now everytime I load it up I can hear my hard drive going crazy. Internet explorer (which i use most of the time) works ok.
Any ideas ?

Re: Mozilla firefox

I'm not sure if this will work, but its worth a shot.
Press ctrl, alt delete, and open up window's task manager.

Go on 'Processes' and look for.. Firefox.exe
As you can see, Explorer.exe should be right below it.
Compare the memory usage, the diffrence is about 50,000k.

Right click firefox.exe and set the priority to High, See if it makes a diffrence.
If it gets worse, or stays the same, try setting it to low.

However, If you want a fast browser, that uses Very low memory, try:
K-Meleon
