Exclamation Support the Bulldog Bash

As posted by Fez in another forum.

Something has to be done otherwise we will lose all these rallies.

If people could also pass this message on it will be a help.

You can send any messages of support for the event to licensing@stratford-dc.gov.uk

(This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it),

CC a copy to info@bulldogbash.com so that we can demonstrate the huge amount of public support for the event.

Would also like to ask people not to be abusive in their email in support of the event. It will be futile.

Note: From the agenda it appears the public are not allowed to attend the hearing:

Exclusion of the Public
“The Chairman to move
“That, pursuant to Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as
amended), the public be excluded from the remaining business of the meeting in
view of the fact that the nature of the proceedings will be such that, if the public
were present, there would likely be disclosure to them of exempt information
under Paragraphs 1, 2 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the said Act (as
amended)".

Re: Support the Bulldog Bash

A petition will not do any good at all. The closed nature of some of the meeting is a bit of a clue. The police are (as I understand it from conversations over the weekend) going to make specific objections based on information that cannot be made public domain.

No of course it won't do any good while apathy towards the rallies continues!

There are clue's all over papasmurf, but the judge and jury will decide, not the police, nor I might add any councilor sat on a licensing committee.

It's not the club's loss that should be of concern, but the loss of the 'event'. You obviously get around and have proberbly heard about the other rallies which are now doubtful. If things carry on the way they are, there will no non to go to next year.

The Bulldog has been licenced. The committee, despite being personally and unlimitedly liable for any problems that may happen because they have decided to disreguard police advice decided to licence the event.
Events are licenced or not depending on past experience of the event, and the compliance of the organisors with licencing conditions.
Petitions from people who don't live in the area of the event are of no use whatsoever.
I was on the periphery of the organisation of a large motorcycle event some years ago and one of the licencing conditions imposed was that there was a licensed facility available for the storage of any confiscated knives, guns and explosives. (Fortunately at the time I had one of those.)
A number of events are not happening because the organisors do not want to take the responsibility for the licencing conditions imposed on them.
SOME councils, Reading being one of them, impose VERY strict event licencing conditions on ANY event in their area.

So the drugs fest that is Reading Rock festival is not party to this. There's a lot of spout about this at the end of the day if it's going to generate lots of cash it's going to be worth the councils approving these events

Yes it is. There are reasons why the police do not have a heavy handed attitude to drugs at music festivals which I am not about to go into on an internet bulletin board.

There are SOME events where the those attending the event are barred from the local area.
Mostly though the amount spent in an area is a factor in a licence being granted.
I go to several rallies that are held at village halls with the camping on the football pitch or similar.
The boost to the local economy with no problems are factors in why such events have been running for many years.
