| Re: Helmsley on Sunday We changed our minds and went to the Dales instead. Mr LC on his fazer, mate on his Aprilia 1000 and me tucked in the middle on the old hornet. Felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed it....Through Bishop Auckland, up through some lovely sweeping roads to Middleton-in-Teesdale, stopped there for a nice coffee then over the tops to St John's Chapel and down to Stanhope. Back through Durham and home. Anyone know that ride? Bit hairy going over the tops as there were wandering sheep everywhere....what is wrong with them???? Even a very loud rev behind them doesn't shift 'em. They just look at you and carry on chewing grass. And they have a tendency to leg it at the last minute in any direction! Wouldn't mind if they weren't so blimming big. Wouldn't fancy hitting one. ![]() And despite Deano's cheery prediction it was sunny. ![]() ![]() |

erm . . . begs the question why you'd want em to move if they were chewing grass - ain't seen too much of that on the Queen's Highways ![]() anyway, we're off to the dales on wednesday, probably stay overnight around Hawes (though we may also exercise our right to change our minds & feck orrf somewhere completely different without letting anyone know ) | |
