if enough people turn out, I know its a Sunday and its not going to cause too much disruption, but hopefully the useless bar-stewards in London might get the message that we the people are a tad unhappy ....

Any one up for it?

just to up-date everyone, there is now a website for the protest which will be updated as and when. It already has a list of towns and city's, venues, times etc ; Drivers United - Against the Extortionate UK Fuel Prices

It would seem from this video that it's not just the UK that's protesting but it's right across Europe

Re: Drivers United - National Fuel Protest 22nd June

Dear Group

If you think about it how many Petrol Suppliers can you name who serve the UK? Well it's not many Shell - BP - Mobil - Texaco - Total - Esso and the odd Elf here & there.

Past Fuel protests stop people going about their business, they have both a positive & negative effect.

Surely with so few Companies the answer is staring us all in the face, TARGET PROTESTING!!!!

Here's how it works.

For example for the whole of July & August we aviod going to a BP filling station for anything at all. Boycotting it full stop, no fuel, papers, flowers, sweets etc.

This should cause us minimal disruption to us as buyers will spread their purchasing across the other suppliers, but it will have a massive impact on BP

Naturally we would get nothing like a 100% uptake due to many factors, such as people not knowing or having to much money to care. There will be those who have miss-judged their tank & find themselves on fumes & have to visit a boycotted station to avoid running out.

I feel if we had a support level of between 70% & 75% it would cripple BP
The great thing is that Shell & Texaco etc could not ignore it by saying that it is BP's problem because come September & October we can turn our attention to Shell.

I read another message in the forum that said Britain is a nation of moaners but nobody ever does anything about it, well here's your chance!!!!

Spread the word, have you ever wondered why it is when you tell a joke that it goes from one end of the country to the other in a single day?

Simple people power.

So let's do it for JULY & AUGUST BOYCOTT BP FILLING STATIONS

HERE'S HOW TO SPREAD THE WORD, COPY & PASTE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL YOUR E MAIL CONTACTS.

TEXT BOYCOTT BP FOR JULY & AUGUST TO YOUR PHONE CONTACTS
PRINT OFF A POSTER & PUT IN THE BACK OF YOUR CAR
TRUCK DRIVERS CONVINCE YOUR BOSSES TO SUPPLY A BANNER FOR THE BACK OF YOUR TRUCKS

COPY & PASTE THIS MESSAGE INTO OTHER FUEL PROTEST FORUMS, FACEBOOK, MY SPACE, MSN, GENES REUNITED, FRIENDS REUNITED

IF WE ALL DO THIS THE MESSAGE WILL BE OUT FAST

JULY & AUGUST BOYCOTT BP
SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER BOYCOTT SHELL
NOVEMBER & DECEMBER BOYCOTT TOTAL

WE WILL REVIEW THE IMPACT COME CHRISTMAS, BUT I THINK THESE COMPANIES WILL LISTEN LONG BEFORE THEN

WELCOME TO THE REVOLUTION!!!

Re: Drivers United - National Fuel Protest 22nd June

Nice idea, was it yours?

Oh and another question who are you?

Cause I for one won't be told what to do by a talking horse

I'm all for bringing the price/duty down on fuel but why not start with Esso.

Re: Drivers United - National Fuel Protest 22nd June

Nice one Nedd, I have had that e-mail too, about 8 months ago! (nice to see you changed the dates though] It's been real effective so far wouldn't you say?

Tell me, how many times have you seen on the TV news that a single petrol has been TARGETED by PROTESTERS?

Anyway, who are you?
