| Snetterton first track day did my first track day yesterday at snetterton, been meaning to do this for some time now, wish id done it earlier, it was the boll**s, i wanna track bike, dont want to ride on the road any more its boring, even had a instructor come over to me expecting a boll**ing for something, only for him to say well done, and then gave me some advice about lines through the bomb hole, so that sells it, track fairing ordered, gonna put the bike on a diet and loss some weight, even gonna look in to club racing, on a serious note for the people out there that have never done a track day, do one, its not just about going fast on a track, its the valuable info you can gain from the instructors, for the people out there that have done and do them, well you know what i mean |

| Re: Snetterton first track day Gotta say I do know how you feel, I didn't come down from the adrenaline rush till next day, my first at Oulten was amazing it's the brakes before the bend and redlining before you're out (CBR 600). Brand new set of tyres buggered in a couple of hours was a small price to pay for how much I got out of it, and the kudos at the pub after whilst discussing my tyre ware will last me a life time (shandys of course). Must say during the day I smoked 150 fags and downded 60 cups of tea, or well it seemed that way ![]() |

| Re: Snetterton first track day tyres? me 2 brand new set of pirelli corsas destroyed, also managed to boil my front brake fluid in the last session, bike is a highly played with kwak zx7r ie maxton suspension, 4 degree ignition advancer, full akaroprvic exhaust, reproviled cams, head work, slipper clutch, carbon race spec airbox from a 7rr, braided brake lines, brembo front master cylinder, and a host of smaller parts, It was great fun, i lost out to some 1000cc bikes down the main and back straights, but through the bendy and twisty sections clawed it all back, so the bike is now on a diet, lossing all parts that are not needed have just ordered a carbon fibre race fairing, and a zx10r swinging arm, need to replace my brake fluid with some dam expensive american light sensitive fluid that is not meant to boil and at £36 a litre it better not, so the zx7r is going to become a track bike only and im gonna buy myself a different bike for the road |

| Re: Snetterton first track day Quote:
Cadwell is very undulating and relatively narrow, with tighter, lower speed corners and much more in character like racing along a rural road. Silverstone by comparison is very flat, smooth and wide, with longer straights and more sweeping high speed corners. Most responsible track day organisers will ensure that riders circulate relatively safely (it can never be completely safe), with the right ability groups and for those that may be nervous of attending a track day, they really are great fun and I would endorse everything that Indie has said. | |
