Anyone out there fancy a meet/night out at the Ace Cafe London? Let me know and I'll arrainge something, there's always stuff going on down there: Rock'n'Roll band's, Classic Bikes, American Hot-Rods, Ride-Out's e.t.c It has quite an interesting history, dating back to the thirties, to the Fifties when the leather boy's would drop a penny in the Juke Box then go for a burn up and see who got back first before the record finished, right up to the present day, with ride-out's, railly's and Police led Safer Rider Training Day's.It would also be nice to put faces to the names from the forum....

Re: A Night Out At The Ace Cafe London controversial I know - I have been a few times over the last few years but to be honest it is not the place it was in the 50's the days of the Ton up Club, it is the same building just of the Inner Ring Road or North Circular A406. I feel it is much commercialised now and whilst it is a meeting place for bikers I think the personality has long gone from the place. It is essentially a greesy spoon with motorcycle parifinalia. But hey when you get a carpark full of bikes in September ready for the Ace Cafe Reunion ride down to Brighton that is a real buzz - Police esscorting thousands and thousands of bikes through the city going through all those camera's which are flash happy every bike causing them to flash (likely as not a ticket is issued that day) - once in Brighton the attmosphere is electric - never have you seen so many bikes... That is a ride to make the effort to be part of. If you get the chance go to the Ace even if it is just to say you have been there.

Have to say Nomad, "Life is what you make it" I can't honestly say that I see the Ace as just a greasy spoon, they've always got stuff going on down there. Anyhow, my point is that it would make a great meeting place for those of us that can get there to meet up for a bit of a social.... Mind you, good point about the Brighton ride in September, have any of you guy's from up North got relatives or friend's here in London you could stay with for that one? If you didn't mind crashing on my floor I'd be willing to accomodate a couple of you. Let me know what you think guy's & girl's. I'd have to check the date for that also as i'm away in Cyprus mid September on me hol's....
