Cool What's a Weekend Bike Ride Out to you?

So what do you call a ride out - in miles?

At the moment I'm doing a few more miles each time I go out, the most I've done so far is 80 miles in one go

My mate call's about 300 mile's a 'ride out' and takes the proverbial out of some of his other mates who toddle off up to Bridlington from Hull for an afternoon which takes them all of 30 minutes to do the 40 or so miles!

Just for fun, I've added a poll

Some time's my mind doesn't only wander, it leaves completely ...........

Re: What's a Weekend Bike Ride Out to you?

I do about 100 miles here and there but last Monday Mr H and I were off together and he decided I needed a long ride out to get my confidence up (after passing 6 weeks ago) so we went to lincoln for an over nighter from Teesside then back the next day up through the peak district Matlock and York just to name a few towns think it was about 350 miles all in and it was too much I enjoyed it but ached for days after

Re: What's a Weekend Bike Ride Out to you?

I dont normally do "rideouts" for the sake of it. My mileage is down to travelling to a place. Mainly Europe. Done Assen, South of France a few times. Italy (the next time I want to do those fantastic roads in Calabria), also done Andorra through the Pyrennees.

I read that smoking weed destroys your brain cells - so I gave up reading

Re: What's a Weekend Bike Ride Out to you?

Well France is a big place and most things are spread out - so a ride out is from 150 - 350 miles but that is most days not weekends

Whilst in the UK I used to weekend in Padiham from Poole so on a Friday after work I would ride up to Padiham to see the Lovely Wendy, spend Saturday riding up to the lakes or Hawes or the Pennines then sunday ride back to Poole, come rain hail or snow...

Around the 200 mile mark on a good day, maybe a little more,

a quick blast tends to be around 70 to 100
