Seaways Today Had a ride over to Seaways today. 1st time I've been there. ![]() Set off in plenty of time to call on AndyR first but found Staxton bank closed. (anyone know why it was closed?) Had to head towards Brid then Driff to get round. I don't know the back roads round there very well but I was amazed to come out back on route a couple of miles from AndyR's place. Well Seaways seemed quite busy when we got there. I could have sat there much longer just watching the bikes going in and out. Were any of you there today? Had a ride round by Pickering on the way back. All in all a nice little ride out even with the occasional slow bit for tractors. Not too warm and not too bright. Perfect biking weather IMO. ![]() Hope everyone got out today. ![]()

Re: Seaways Today It was good to see ya bud, thanks for the Mars Bar and the cuppa, Sue says thanks for the Twix and the cuppa ![]() My ride back was slightly eventful, first I got stuck behind a tractor, then a combine, then the escort car, after that it was pretty OK though. And to be a smart ass, yesterday I put exactly two gallons of petrol in the bike just as the light was flicking on and off. 115 miles later it's started flicking on and off again ![]() So that means I'm doing 55 to 58 to the gallon See what I mean about that 6th gear? It comes in useful doesn't it? lol P.S. I'm still proud of ya for managing to get into 6th after a year of owning the bike ![]()

If at first you don't succeed buy a snipers rifle, hire a clown suit and climb a clock tower

Re: Seaways Today No mate, not a peep though I think it must still be closed given the lack of traffic going through the village. Lots of stuff heading down towards Driff I suspect from the B1253 but nothing heading towards the coast.

Re: Seaways Today Just been on AA and RAC sites and they say still closed (between roundabout and lights at bottom of Staxton) due to a "serious accident". That usually means one or more fatality and with Scarborough Races on this weekend I hope to hell it wasn't a bike. ![]()

Re: Seaways Today Damn. That's bad. ![]() From the pic it looks like the coach has come down Staxton bank and gone straight through the lights. Thankfully no bikes involved but very sorry for the couple in the car. A sobering end to the day. ![]()
