Re: First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England. This would be an epic journey for me on a 125 and being so far away - "354 mi – about 9 hours 33 mins" according to google, but I'll consider it Count me in as a 'maybe'!

Re: First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England. Should have put a "go with the flow" vote in the poll too. I don't need an excuse for a ride out except for funds. Have to say I wasn't keen on Derbyshire though as I do it loads every year, but hey ho, it's a meetup and it will be a laugh, so count me in, funds permitting.

Re: First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England. To be honest I only do Matlock and the Cat and Fiddle, Buxton etc with maybe a scoot over Congleton or Leek. I really fancy a scoot up to the Highlands , then cross over to the west hitting Oban before home.

thats a whole new thread mike one which i would be very very interested in![]() i though Derbyshire would have been really central for most peeps, therefore keeping excuses to a minimum ![]() ....................Sam Last edited by druidsam : 10-09-2008 at 02:23 PM. | |

Re: First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England. Don't get me wrong, I think Derbyshire is great for the reason you gave above, central to most peeps. It's just that I feel I'm looking over my shoulder for plod when I'm there, because the roads are ace and it's all to easy to give it some when you're in the mood, the people who set the cameras out know this, and also know the spots. I've never had this worry on my trips north of the border (apart from the A9 Perth to Inverness being a known speeding trap) and the scenery is far more dramatic. If I was in a position to move, it would be up there. On the other forum I'm a member of, we've already set the wheels in motion for our next years meet to be St Mary's Loch anyway, I just hope the two don't clash as I'm up for doing both.
