First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England.

By general consensus from post's in other threads, there are going to be two forum meet-up's this year, the second one in Scotland again around August / September time with the first one in England late spring / early summer so that members who want to attend both can (with a 'respectable' time gap in between)

This thread is for the 1st 2009 meet-up in England!

For any newer members, if you want to catch-up on what this is all about, please have a read of the stickied threads here Rideouts, tours, rallies etc - The Biker Forum where you will find most of your questions already answered. The pole for the type of meet up was done here; Forum meetup - Duration if you want to add to it and haven't already please feel free .....The members location map is here, Bikerforum members map (52 markers placed) if your not already on it then now is the time to add yourself!!

LOCATION ;-
The Peak District has been chosen because 1) Its a nice place to go to and 2) It's closer to the majority of members and has around a 4 hour travel time for each of those members furthest away up north from Glasgow area and down south from Margate, Plymouth and Portsmouth. (Sorry emzed - 7 for you!)

DATES ;-
There is a pole added with 4 weekends May / June for members who already have commitments or need to book time off work, so for members who are free to come and meet-up anytime, please do not vote on the pole.

There are some biker friendly venues which have B&B, food & bars, camping etc and I will try to add a second pole, if I can't then I'll open another thread for the venue.
When everyone has decided on the venue and Spree has a good idea of numbers, he will try and negotiate a reduced rate as he did so successfully for us all last year!!

Soooo .... it's time to get the ball rolling before diary's start getting booked up! .......... and remember that it doesn't matter what type of wheels you use to get there, just so long as you do manage to make it.
Every biker forum member is invited to join in and that includes experienced riders AND 'L' plate riders, no one is excluded !!

Soooooooooo ................... who's up for it?

NEW VENUE ADDED

Iron Horse Cafe. Dedicated Biker cafe and themed saloon bar venue for all petrolheads in the North West (Bolton). Parking on asphalt and 5 acres of grass. licensed for alcohol, food and music. Camping with showers and food from 08am every day including all day breakfasts as well as bacon butties etc. We are even planning to specially import pies from Wigan for the connoisseurs. Close to The Peak District, Rivington Barn etc.

If anyone would like to change their venue vote please post on the venue thread and I will arrange it. I need to know what you originally voted for too please

Pic's of the 08 meet in Scotland are in this thread ;- forum meet up scotland august 2008

what he said Cheers GB, I'll do my best to get to one of the meet ups this time, though if it's the English one it may be by car (too much of a wuss to ride all that way on a 250!) or I might just have to borrow the brother-in-law's Virago from his place in Doncaster and ride down in a chrome-glinting stylee

Re: First Forum meet-up for 2009 - England.

In theory I would also be up for coming to this, but I'll be moving to a currently unidentified new city and new job between now and then so have no idea when I'll be able to make it ...

So, I won't vote for a date, but I'll do my best to make whichever weekend gets picked

I'm up for it, any weekend will be ok for me.

Booked my DAS course today for Nov, so I will have a bike by then.
