Re: Ride to the wall

There were quite a few from Scotland there and in Kilts. Very smart they looked as well.

My OH and one of our mates met a bloke there that had been to the War Memorial on the Tuesday to take some flowers for his son, who he lost last year in Afganistan or Irac.

He said that when he heard about the run that he just had to be part of it.

He has had a license plate made up on his bike of which the back ground is a photo of his son and the lettering and numbers are his sons name and date of birth.

I wish I'd taken our camera...remembered when we were well on our way that I'd left it on the table.

"Ride To The Wall" UK Memorial Service

I hope it takes off and becomes as bigger an annual UK event in the biking & Forces calender as the 'Rolling Thunder Ride to the Wall' is in the US.

Rolling Thunder Ride To The Wall

Some time's my mind doesn't only wander, it leaves completely ...........

Found some other footage of the ride..hope this link works.

Not far into the clip you will see trikes coming around. The fifth trike around with the Cossack Combo behind is Myself and OH.

Yeah thats right....how many times did you have to fill up to get to the memorial? by the way it sounded good when you kicked it up.
