Re: Fundraising

Thats not a bad idea at all mate, just one thing has sprung to mind. Do we need some sort of license for this type of thing?

Re: Fundraising

Tomorrow I am going to get on the phone and PC to try to get as many manufacturers/suppliers to donate to donate stuff that we can sell on ebay. In return I will offer them some sort of link back or writeup on their company or similar. Could bring in a few bits and pieces maybe?

Just an idea to add to that- if you do it calling in at say National trust/english heritage sites or similar you might get spin off national publicity.

Re: Fundraising

Righto, Good news

No license in nessesary as long as bikes/bikers are road legal. No more than you need a license for a ride out with friends.

Essentially I had evisaged a series of small ride outs over a period of time (a week/2 week period) but with a batton, should there be a final leg (or any leg) that looked like attracting a larger contingent then it would be only prudent to inform the local police of the route and likely numbers, maily so a large group does not cause a stir and also if it through up any health and safety problems with any other busy events en route.

So game on, I am happy to put some time in on this if people think it has legs

Re: Fundraising

Can John O Groats to Lands End be done in a day? The reason I ask is because it would look like more of an effort. Most people wouldn't think about the organisation that goes into something like this if there isn't a recognised start/finish line.
