Fundraising

Right guys we need to get the ball rolling on this and I need a bit of help with ideas. What I don't need is for everyone else to jump on the bandwagon when all the work is done.

The stickers for the site are in the pipeline and I will post as soon as they are available.

What we need is some practical ideas for fund raising in addition to this, I personally will be contacting manufacturers to see if they can donate anything that we can auction off.

Maybe we could all have a look round our garages to see if there is anything we can stick on ebay or similar. These items obviously should be something you don't want or need, but remember something you might consider rubbish could be just the thing someone else is looking for

I think you need to be a bit clearer about what your asking for Spree.

Do you want peeps to sell on their own ebay accounts and pass over the money, or are you opening a forum ebay account?

Re: Fundraising

Difficult to say really, I toyed with the idea of putting some sort of auction script on the site but it wouldn't get the same exposure as ebay. If I can get some sort of monitoring script on here then it might be worth opening a forum account.

I think ebay has something in place for non profit stuff but I'm not sure. If we had a forum account then someone has to hold the items for sale I would have thought, so maybe it should be set up as individuals. I will look into some monitoring software and get back to you on this.

Re: Fundraising

separate thread for a dynamic list of peep's fundraising ideas? be easier to track & co-ordinate. will there be a dedicated bank account for money transfers / cheques or are they to be made payable to great uncle spree?

Re: Fundraising

I don't want any money paid to me personally - that way there can't be any mix ups

I think Replicast has a donate button on their site - maybe we could link to that some way?

Re: Fundraising

I will be meeting Gary and the team at Oulton Park this coming weekend so maybe we can decide what to do then, or at least get some solid ideas ?

Re: Fundraising

Righto had an idea last night, I have given it some thought and here goes

Hows about a forum relay?

Get x amount of (willing) forum members spaced about the country and have a sponsored bike relay. From a start point a suitable baton (with Replicast and Biker forum logos naturally) would be given to Forum member 1 (FM1) who rides to meet FM2 and hands the baton over, FM2 rides to FM3....I am sure you get the picture.

Of course members not taking part in the relay can pledge amounts per mile or a fixed amount.

Pics along the way as proof and perhaps finishing at the home of Team Replicast with a handover to Ben and the team.

Clearly detail would need to be thrashed out (amount of relay riders and selection etc, forum pages for pledges etc) but at the heart it is about

1. Riding bikes
2. Raising some funds
3. Having a good story (and pics) to put on the forum for people to follow (basic progress free to view, full pics etc when you have pleged perhaps?)

What do you guys think?
