| Ben McConnachie - Oulton Park 20th July 2008 - short report Just a short post for now as I am knackered, I will try to post in more detail tomorrow with more pics. Arrived at Oulton with my son Stu at 9am and was met by Gary Dawson at the gate. We parked the bike up, got changed and went direct to the replicastuk garage in the paddock where we were introduced to the team by Gary. Ben and his Father were to arrive later. Unfortunately Ben only managed to qualify in 30th because of an engine seizure (piston) the previous day. The team worked hard and managed to rebuild the bike for race day but the gremlins must have still been in the motor because the crank bearing gave up the ghost on lap 11, forcing a dissapointed Ben to to retire after 11 out of 14 laps. As I said this only a short report but hopefully I can get a full one posted tomorrow. I have to say that it was a fantastic day out and we were treated brilliantly by Gary and his team, complete with a tour of the BSB Team garages and felt like we were very special guests - my lad was delighted and bored his Mother to death for about an hour with the details - not bad for a teenage lad that normally does no more than grunt and mumble  Anyway heres a few pics; Bens Team Replicastuk 125GP Bike  Side view of the bike  Ben shortly after arrival  Getting kitted up  Looking confident  Setting off through the paddock to the start line  A bit dejected after the race  Look out for the full report and story - hopefully tomorrow  |
