Re: The Bikerforum Relay i have started work on a map that will show the tracks and in true firestormmike fashion, members who are taking part can add themselves and that way gb and myself will have a better idea of who will be doing what MyGuestmap (4 markers placed) its far from finished ,i'll get back to it tomorrow after work. if you are going to add yourself, then dont use the alien as he is reserved for the tracks...cheers ..............................Sam 1.9.08. It's working now, Sam's fixed it, so you are all able to add your own names to the map - grotbag Last edited by grotbag : 09-01-2008 at 10:46 AM.

Re: The Bikerforum Relay I have at last caught up with this and unfortunately I am already committed for September. I want to contribute though and after consultation with GB I would like to sponsor Sam on the Scottish leg. So can I get a sponsor form?

Re: The Bikerforum Relay here we go, i agree with sam this should be a non stop relay but (big but) i don't think we have enough time to sort this out properly, with only 3 weeks to go, no definitive route planned, no sponsorship as such yet and no wide awareness of what we're planning. with this short amount of time we've got to find willing sponsors (who will want to know the exact route) find enough sponsors to make it worthwhile (cos if we only make a quid i'll chuck that in anyway). main point being that all the riders are willing to spend at least £40 on petrol before any money is made, so unless we can get enough sponsors imho we may as well just hand over our petrol money and stay in.

| Re: The Bikerforum Relay Now with added timings... 1) Knockhill..............Sam (Leave noon) TO <1h51> 2) Intermediate change over near berick?.......... (arrive 1.50pm leave 2.05pm) TO <2h19> 3) Croft..........(Arrive4.30pm leave 4.45pm) TO <2h58> 4) Cadwell..........(Arrive 7.45pm leave 8pm) TO <2h27> 5) Snetterton...........(Arrive 10.30pm leave 10.45pm) TO <2h08> 6) Brands............(Arrive 12.55am Leave 1.10pm) TO <1h49> 7) Thruxton............(Arrive 3am leave 3.15am) TO <1h42> 8) Silverstone............ Rerb? (Arrive 5am leave 5.15am) TO <1h15> 9) Mallory............. Rerb (Arrive 6.30am leave 6.45am) TO <2h04> 10) Oulton.............. jonnywombat and Skodaphil (Arrive 8.50am leave 9.05am) TO <1h38> 11) Donny.............. jonnywombat and Skodaphil (making up numbers with new lead rider) (Arrive 10.45am leave 11.00am) TO <1h20> Finish - Team replicast - Barnsley.........(arrive 12.20pm) OR TO Finish - Matlock - <50mins> (arrive 11.50am) Times are based on AA route planner, using fastest route, and allows 15mins for handovers, but no comfort breaks or fuel stops. I reckon we need 2 bikes per leg (just in case), with at least one new person who "leads" the leg Once we decide on the finish point then we need to think about what time we want to land at the finish.. with as many participants as possible meeting up there. Once we have decided this then we can back track using the timings to work out when we start, but the journay time alone is about 22hrs... Personally I reckon Sam sets out at midday Saturday and we ride right through to finish midday Sunday, and I think the final leg should be led by Spree. | Re: The Bikerforum Relay great gb if you don't mind, anyone not participating can hand some money over hehe ![]() but we've got 3 weeks to get everything sorted and unless we fill all those relay legs with names we'll be going nowhere fast, until we know it's gonna happen nobody can approach any publicity.was gonna suggest someone from the forum (admin/mod person) contacts mcn and motorsport weekly as this is all about helping out a youngster (ben) in motorsport. so hurray up people get your names down we think each leg is better with 2 bikes (back up and assistance/you never know) but remember it's all about the money! we may need to put this off a bit if we can't get organized. |

Re: The Bikerforum Relay I think the sponsor forms should be for any member to print off and go around and gain sponsors for the whole event, and not for individual members or legs.. Something along the lines of.. "The members of the Biker forum.co.uk are undertaking a relay challenge to visit all the circiuts on the BSB race calender in 24 hours, starting at midday on 20th and finishing at Insert finish point at midday 21st." However Phil has a point; as things stand atm we do not have a relay. Until we have a relay we cannot promote the event in the media, If we do not raise at least £40 per bike then it would be easier for the volunteers to donate their petrol money and stay at home.
